Which is the best folding treadmill for small space?

Is it possible to write a guide that will make the purchased treadmill home 100% meet expectations? This is a big challenge because, as in Poland, "how many people, so many opinions", but at the same time worth taking.

Which is the best treadmill for Home use?

The answer to this general question will help, asking additional specific questions. To make sure you choose the right home treadmill, consider the following:
  • How much space can you spend on treadmill setup? (treadmill dimensions)
  • How often will the treadmill be used? (engine power)
  • Will the trainings be intense? (speed adjustment range, belt inclination angle, damping systems)
  • Will you plan your own training modes? (training computer capabilities)

Treadmill at home - dimensions

Thetreadmill is the largest fitness device (except for large elliptical machines) used for exercising at home. Therefore, first you need to answer the question, how much space in the apartment will be allocated to unfolding the treadmill? Counting square meters, when determining the area needed for a running track at home, does not work.
The easiest way is to choose a place and measure a rectangle on the floor (this is the shape of the treadmill base with the running belt folded out) to check how large the treadmill will fit. The long side of the rectangle should be referred to the length of the treadmill given by the manufacturer, and the shorter side of the rectangle should be related to the width of the treadmill.
Manufacturers in 99.9% of cases give the overall dimensions (maximum external) of the device, so this method is actually reliable . When choosing a place for a treadmill, you must remember to ensure easy access to the running belt, as it is crucial for training comfort.
If the treadmill is in the bedroom, you can have a wall and a bed on the sides, a wall or a lamp on the bedside table in front of you (headphones on your ears, closed eyes - then the wall does not matter), but the entrance to the running belt must be easily accessible !
It is obvious that the more space in the apartment, the better running conditions on the treadmill you can create. However, a lot of people train on the treadmill in small apartments, so for those who want nothing difficult. And finally, the story about the dimensions of fitness equipment is great news - most treadmills for exercise at home have a raised running belt! Folded up after exercise, the treadmill takes up less space than a medium-sized elliptical cross trainer or exercise bike!

Home treadmill - engine power

A home treadmill can be electric (motor) or magnetic (powered by muscle).
The most popular is the electric treadmill , because it guarantees the highest smoothness of training. A magnetic treadmill is a budget device for recreational training. However, they also have their advantages, which many people appreciate - they are low-emergency, lighter than electric, have small dimensions, are cheaper. However, the best running training in the apartment can be done on an electric treadmill, equipped with a DC motor. The greater the engine power, the greater the training options.
  • treadmills with 0.8-1 HP engines - allow you to conduct short trainings, are suitable for walking, walking and jogging. Maximum speed up to approx. 10-12 km / h, treadmill load capacity within 100-110 kg
  • treadmills with 1.5-2.5 HP engines - they will prove themselves in regular running trainings, also those more intense. They develop a maximum speed in the range of 14-18 km / h, which is enough for most running people. The maximum load capacity for devices with such engines is usually 120-130 kg
  • treadmills with 3KM engines and more powerful - the 3KM engine develops a maximum speed of 20-22 km / h and will provide the treadmill with a load capacity of 150 km. For home treadmills that you plan to use regularly, this will be the best choice. Treadmills with 4 HP engines are already the largest devices for regular, intensive running, perfect for advanced running enthusiasts (4 HP motor power is enough for commercial and semi-commercial devices)
